A: Yellow - it reminds me of sunnier days, giraffes and sweetcorn

A: Werkha - his set on saturday night at 42 Degrees Festival was a real highlight for me. I loved how much energy his collective exuded

A: This has to be the first ever night of 42 Degrees Festival. I ran into the DJ-tent at 11pm, just before the set ended, to see friends and strangers dancing together for the first time in what felt like forever. Magical
Q: Which instrument do you play? Or which one would you like to play?
A: Sax! I’ve always wanted to learn the cello - Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E minor makes me feel things

A: Brainchild - if we can be anything close to this wonderful independent festival, I would be incredibly proud

A: Not sure if it was 2020/21 (years blur together as I’m sure many have experienced) but I’ve been enjoying Phum Viphurit as of late

A: Honestly, has got to be 42 Degrees 2021 when the music ended for the night but everyone in the arena continued singing Could You Be Loved by Bob Marley in unison - was a magical moment that made me really proud of what we had achieved.

A: Always wanted to learn bass guitar when I was younger.

A: Eric Prydz closing Creamfields, never seen a better set than that other than him closing Creamfields the following year.

A: I don’t, unfortunately my musical talent starts and finishes with dancing but I would love to be able to sing.

A: Well obviously 42 Degrees, but other than that I Iove all of Elrow’s events as they’re always so much fun and the production and decoration are beyond anything I’ve ever seen.

A: Blue, I wear a lot of bright blue and I like to be near water.

A: She Drew The Gun, love the music and the message. They put on a wicked live show. Had two of their albums on strong repeat over the summer.

A: Getting it Back - Cymande, although looking at my stats it looks like Summon the Fire - Comet is Coming has been in my top 5 for 3 years now!

A: This is so hard. Probably Glastonbury 2019 at Shangri La, three different friends had sets on the bounce and after listening to a huge crowd singing along to HENGE Demilitarise, Slamboree Soundsystem came on with Mike Freear’s Keith Flint tribute mix. Watching the darkness turn into day again made the shared experience really poignant.
Q: Which instrument do you play? Or which one would you like to play?
A: I play drums, not very well.I used to live in an old police station in Streatham and one of my housemates, Charlie Stirzaker, is a professional drummer. We’d always have massive jam sessions back at ours after gigs and parties, so I started taking drum lessons to join in with everyone. I did about a year’s worth of lessons and lots of impromptu sessions with different people.

A: Got to be green! The colour of the hills in the lake district are greener than anything I've seen.

She's not, new but I was introduced to Jasmine Sullivan through her Tiny Desk concert and I am a new mega fan.

A: Red room by Hiatus Kaiyote. I cant get enough of there new album.

A: Seeing grace jones at love supreme sing and hula hoop at the same time with a male pole dancer.

A: Purple, the colour of sci-fi 👽

A: Beverley Glenn-Copeland! He has made some of the most beautiful and touching music I’ve ever heard, Keyboard Fantasies jumped right into my top 5 albums of all time as soon as I heard it. I love stories of musicians finally getting recognition for amazing music they have made, even if it’s 30 or 40 years on.

A: Lucky – Lewis Taylor! Another amazing 2021 discovery; if you are into D’Angelo you will love Lewis Taylor. It got a reissue early in 2021 through Be With Records, who are always incredible.
Q: Most memorable festival experience?
A: Seeing Cleft play their final gig at ArcTanGent 2016; they were a 2-piece math rock band and a local Manchester favourite of mine. It was incredibly sad that Dan the guitarist passed away due to cancer shortly after. I’ve never seen a crowd go as wild as that set, as everybody knew it was a farewell of sorts.

A: Aside from DJing I play guitar & bass guitar, but I want to learn the sax – who doesn’t?

A: Watching Everything Everything at Kendal Calling, my first festival when I was 16, whenever I hear their music I get transported back to that sunny field.

A: There’s always so many great memories from festivals. I think from this summer it would have to be when I went on my 6’7” friend’s shoulders while watching Loyle Carner at Wilderness, and being the tallest in the crowd was pretty cool. Then Tom Misch joined him on stage .. that one’s difficult to top.

A: I play a little self-taught electric guitar and have played piano for years (getting rusty though, must remember to keep it up).

A: Green Man festival, in the beautiful Brecon Beacons. I worked in their production team in 2019 and my life hasn’t been the same since. I’m expecting a takeover by 42 Degrees this year.
